The relationship between the People of Israel and its land is an ancient one, starting with the Land of Israel as the birthplace of the nation. In modern times, this relationship took on a new cast, as Jews around the world mobilized to build their own sovereign entity – the State of Israel.

Our enduring understanding in this chapter is that the State of Israel is the Vision and Venture of the Jewish People.

This current chapter of the Toolkit focuses on the State of Israel through the lens of Jewish Peoplehood in the past, the present and on to the future. We look at the historical relationship of Jews to the Land of Israel, the story of the rebirth of the nation through its connection to the land and its becoming the State of Israel.
